Mystery Billion-Dollar Crypto Divorce: Traders Seek Exec Identity

A mystery figure in the crypto world, reportedly embroiled in a massive $10 billion divorce, might have just found a surprising ally and legal advisor: the ever-controversial crypto heavyweight, Justin Sun.
Last week, crypto influencer @cryptobraveHQ dropped a bombshell on X (formerly Twitter): the ex-boss of a major crypto exchange is reportedly going through a divorce. This claim comes from “people in the know,” according to the influencer.
The original post, written in Chinese, alleges that the couple’s assets up for grabs are worth over $10 billion, including a mix of crypto and other valuables that are still being tallied.
Justin Sun quickly responded to this post, publicly offering to step in and protect the “legal rights and interests” of “one party” involved. His message was clear: contact him ASAP.

Adding another layer to the drama, Sun also asserted that if any of his “legal property” is caught up in this divorce settlement, it “must be returned” to him.
Sun elaborated, stating, “Our dedicated financial team needs those account books submitted to us immediately. Furthermore, we’re prepared to take legal action, filing a civil lawsuit in Hong Kong’s High Court to demand full disclosure of all account books.”
Whose side is Sun on? It remains unclear whether he’s offering his legal muscle to the ex-crypto exchange boss or to the person they’re reportedly divorcing.
The rumor mill is in overdrive trying to guess who’s involved in this supposed divorce. Online sleuths on X are pointing fingers at Leon Li Lin, the founder of Houbi who sold his majority stake back in 2022. Interestingly, Justin Sun stepped in as an advisor after that sale and is widely believed to be running the show there now.
Another name being thrown into the mix on social media is none other than former Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao (CZ). CZ has been married to Yang Weiqing since 2003, and they have two children. However, it’s also well-known that he has a “life partner” relationship with He Yi, his Binance co-founder, since 2014.
Let’s not forget, CZ stepped down as Binance CEO in November 2023 after receiving a four-month prison sentence following his guilty plea to money laundering charges in the US.
